Dollar changes cause Cisco fiasco

The recent rise in the US Dollar against the pound is causing chaos for Cisco distributors who are having to re-quote and re-quote again or risk losing money on Cisco orders. Some organisations are reporting that this is helping to speed up the process of closing Cisco deals before the appreciation of the dollar affects prices further, where some distributors are claiming that rising prices and uncertainty are putting customers off purchasing and are looking to cheaper alternatives.

Comstor, one of the UK's largest Cisco distributor has reported a 12% rise in prices to account for the fluxuation, other Cisco giants such as Zyko are following suit. NB Data's Cisco Sales Director Mr Kamran Maqbool commented "we are assessing prices daily to ensure that they can deliver the best prices for their customers and in many cases we are taking a hit on our margins."

Big Box announces launch of new BT Synergy 5500 DECT phones

Big Box Shop, one of the U.K’s leading suppliers of BT home phones have announced that they are to stock a brand new line of the popular Synergy DECT phone range. The  BT Synergy 5500 DECT cordless phone, will be available soon, with Big Box being one of the first online retailers to stock the new phones.

The Synergy 5500 range is an updated version of the popular Synergy 5100 DECT range, with the addition of a digital answering machine. Featuring a playback capacity of 12 minutes, recorded messages can be heard either through the speakerphone from the base unit, or for privacy, through the handset. Big Box launch new PBX system
